Back to Future

NY party in St-Petersburg

To celebrate the start of 2019, we hosted a “Back To The Future” party. Doc and Marty greeted us in their glorious DeLorean and transported the party back (hello 90-s!) and to the future (hello robots!). To escort us on this journey was a narrator that had seen the future before. Let’s give a word to Daria (Tashkent):

Once I’ve been to St-Pete I threw a coin into Fontanka for luck, wishing to be back here someday. My wish came true exactly that year - Murano took me aboard and I was invited to a New Year party in St-Pete.

And here I was - at the first costume party in my life. Just like a theatre begins with a hanger every costume party begins with a costume or so I heard. There was nothing like strict dress code just general prompts - look fancy, lots of bright colors, foil shirts, foil caps, foil everything, you know what i’m talking about (laughing). No wonder guys preferred retro. I mean 90-s retro. Casual, awkward haircuts, motley makeup and so on. There even was one guy in the sports suit with actual stripes.

It started when we all came to this basement like place with thickest brick walls that I’ve seen in my life and the first thing I saw was... oh my gosh - it was freaking real Delorian! Next thing I remember was jumping right into this thing begging guys to make photo of me (not that they resist). You can see me sitting on the hood.

Tesla pulse and cannon discharge (both looked very real to me) announced that the show has begun. Doc Brown and Marty engaged us in “Name that tune” and “Family Feud” with a prize pool of things dear to my girlish heart like Tamagotchi or Kinder surprise. In the next room guys played Mario in a bartop arcade machine.

Then there was a laser dance show and almost real Spice Girls, very cute dudes with serious “i mean business” looks on their faces and amazing ozon show. I screamed when one of them shattered a frozen bouquet of flowers by the head of another. Turned out this other guy survived alright.

And that was just the beginning! Then we, all warmed up hit the floor on 0-s Disco.
